Cabinet Approves Rs 10,000 Crore SME Growth Fund for Equity Investments

The Union Cabinet approved a Rs 10,000 crore commitment towards the establishment of the SME Growth Fund, according to media reports.
The fund provides direct equity investment in small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
Manufacturing enterprises receive the majority allocation under the cleared fund, with a Rs 500 crore provision planned for FY27.
The approval comes as free trade agreements open expansion opportunities for growing firms.
For Indian founders and cross-border business owners, the program provides direct equity backing for India-based small and medium enterprises.
